Privacy policy
This policy describes how the Gmail Cleaner & Backup desktop application developed by SilverITsolution accesses and handles Gmail data.
1. Who is responsible
SilverITsolution, Belgium. For privacy requests or questions, email info@silveritsolution.be.
2. Data accessed
With your explicit authorization, the application uses Google OAuth and the scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly to read Gmail data. Depending on the inventory or analysis operation, this may include message identifiers, labels, sender and recipient addresses, subject lines, dates, headers, message content and attachment metadata. The read-only permission technically permits broader access than individual analytics require.
3. Purpose and use
The application uses authorized Gmail data to generate a local mailbox inventory, statistics and related analysis, and to resume or refresh that inventory. Gmail data is not used for advertising, profiling for advertising or training general-purpose AI models. This application does not send messages, delete mail, alter labels or otherwise modify the Gmail mailbox.
4. Storage and security
Inventory and analysis records are stored locally on the computer in an application-managed SQLite database. OAuth credentials and tokens are handled in the application's local authentication/profile infrastructure and are not meant to be published on this website. The website itself does not collect Gmail mailbox data. Like other local software, the security of locally stored information also depends on the security of the device and operating system.
5. Sharing and transfers
The application is designed for local processing rather than sending Gmail content to SilverITsolution servers. Gmail data is not sold or shared with advertisers. Google processes authentication and API requests required to provide Gmail access. If support requires inspection of diagnostic material, users should avoid sending personal Gmail content or credentials; no remote access to mailbox data is implied by using this website.
6. Retention and deletion
Locally created inventory data remains on the user's computer until removed by the user or through the application's supported data-management procedures. Disconnecting or revoking Google access stops future authorized API access, but does not automatically erase previously stored local inventory data. Users may request guidance on locating and deleting local data via the contact address above.
7. Access and revocation
Access is granted through Google's authorization screen. You can revoke it at any time in your Google Account third-party connections. Revocation prevents the application from obtaining new authorized Gmail data unless you explicitly reconnect. You can contact us for information on access, correction or erasure requests under applicable privacy law.
8. Google API Services user data
Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Access is limited to user-facing functionality described here. Google OAuth authorization does not imply that Google has verified or endorsed this application.
9. Policy changes
This statement may be updated if the application's functionality, data handling or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
