Gmail Cleaner & Backup
A Windows desktop application for understanding your Gmail mailbox through read-only inventory and analytics, with local data storage and user-controlled access.
What the application does
- Connects to a Gmail account with Google OAuth permission granted by the user.
- Reads Gmail data to build an inventory and provide mailbox insights, including message counts, senders, dates and attachments.
- Stores inventory and analysis information locally on the user's computer in a managed SQLite database.
- Provides controlled, resumable inventory and history catch-up workflows.
Gmail permissions
The application requests the Google OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly. This scope permits reading Gmail mailbox content and metadata. The current application does not send email, delete messages, change labels or modify mailbox content.
Availability
Gmail Cleaner & Backup is under development and is not currently offered as a publicly downloadable product. Any expanded capabilities would require separate implementation and user review.
